As a Senior Building Physics Engineer, you will be a key member of our Building Performance team, responsible for leading and delivering high-quality building physics and sustainability consulting services. Your expertise will be essential in guiding our projects towards greater energy efficiency, thermal comfort, and environmental sustainability. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Building Simulation and Analysis: Utilize advanced building simulation tools (e.g., IESVE, EnergyPlus) to model and analyze building performance, daylighting, thermal comfort, and energy consumption. Interpret and communicate results effectively to clients and project teams.
- Sustainability Consulting: Collaborate with architects, engineers, clients and other stakeholders to develop sustainable design strategies, including passive design, renewable energy integration, and carbon reduction initiatives.
- Energy Efficiency Solutions: Identify and implement innovative energy-saving measures, systems, and technologies, considering lifecycle costs and environmental impact.
- Building Performance Optimization: Conduct thorough energy audits and recommend retrofit solutions for existing buildings, aiming to enhance performance and reduce energy consumption.
- Code Compliance: Stay updated with local and international building codes, energy standards, and regulations to ensure project compliance and facilitate successful approvals.
- Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their needs, provide expert advice, and build lasting relationships through exceptional customer service.
- Mentorship and Leadership: Support and mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment within the team.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Physics, Sustainable Design, or a related field.
- Extensive experience (minimum 5 years) in building physics engineering, energy modelling, and sustainable design consulting.
- Proficiency in building simulation software such as IESVE, EnergyPlus, or similar tools.
- In-depth knowledge of sustainable building practices, energy-efficient systems, and renewable energy technologies.
- Familiarity with LEED, BREEAM, or other green building certification systems.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Professional certifications such as CEng, CIBSE, or equivalent are desirable.
