This prestigious independent boarding special school in Oxford offers a nurturing and inclusive environment, committed to providing exceptional education and care.Role Overview:The Level 3 Learning Support Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting students’ educational and personal development. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a supportive learning environment tailored to each student’s needs.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group support to students with special educational needs.
- Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development.
- Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver tailored learning activities.
- Monitor and record students’ progress and provide feedback to the teaching team.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Assist with personal care needs, where necessary.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Level 3 qualification in Learning Support or a related field.
- Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Understanding of various SEN conditions and appropriate support strategies.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students’ development.
- Willingness to assist with personal care tasks, if required.
