A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Intellectual Property Manager to join the team with our prestigious client, this is a hybrid role at their site in CrawleyJob DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Intellectual Property Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in handling intellectual property matters within the Defence sector, particularly with Defence Conditions and Defence Standards. This role is critical in ensuring our IP assets are managed effectively, compliant with industry regulations, and strategically aligned with our business objectives.Primary Purpose of the Role:The purpose of this role is to facilitate strong IP management on a technically complex programme of programmes with 3rd party and internal candidates with a blend of intellectual property conditions. Creating registers, policies and processes to appropriately and contractually manage IP agreements between capability providers and the Authority (on behalf of the Secretary of State).Principal Relationships:External stakeholders, in particular customers and suppliers

Functions contributing to Project delivery, in particular Engineering, Industry, Procurement, Finance, Legal & Commercial, Quality, Health & Safety, SecurityKey Responsibilities and Tasks:IP Strategy Development and Implementation
Develop and implement comprehensive IP strategies that align with company goals and industry standards
Ensure IP strategies are compliant with Defcons and Defstans
IP Asset Management
Oversee the identification, registration, and maintenance of the company’s and 3rd Party IP assets across the Programme
Ensure the IP register is digitally configured, compartmentalised, appropriately access controlled for both security considerations, NDA considerations and nationality restrictions
Compliance and Legal Oversight
Ensure all IP activities comply with relevant laws and regulations, including Defcons and Defstans
Work closely with legal counsel to manage IP disputes, infringements, and enforcement actions
Contract Management
Review, draft, and negotiate IP-related clauses in contracts, agreements, and licenses.
Ensure that all IP-related contractual obligations are met and manage any IP-related risks.
Third-Party IP Tracking and Management
Track and manage third-party IP to ensure no infringement on external IP rights.
Collaboration and Training
Collaborate with commercial, engineering, supply chain and other departments to ensure IP considerations are integrated into project planning and execution with clear scenario based guidelines
Provide training and guidance to staff on IP best practices and compliance with Defcons and DefstansExperience:EssentialA proven track record of delivering successful projects in a context relevant to our business
Leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams
Managing customer and supplier relationships
Leading the process of structuring and planning complex projects
Project contractual management and IP in various industrial contexts
Working across functional boundaries to achieve alignment and support for project objectives
Experience with coaching junior Project Managers
Working in a complex, multi-site organisationDesirableSupply chain or subcontracting experience in complex procurement environments
