Our technology benefits millions of people every day – making travel safer, supporting sustainable energy transition, efficiently heating, cooling our homes, and helping our world stay connected.Connect with us on LinkedIn:Job DescriptionThis role’s purpose is to help strengthen John Crane’s global presence for Dry Gas Seal and Turbo products via management of the Slough Turbomachinery AM commercial team and support of the regional end user and first fit teams on a global basis to drive maximum long term sales growth & profitability.The team manage the “front end” of the Dry Gas Seal (DGS) after market business out of Slough. Their primary responsibility is to support our global sales team with quotations including technical/Commercial support relating to activities such as DGS Refurbishment, Spare seals, retrofits, spare parts and parts rework for our global service center network. The team are also responsible to ensure incoming orders are inline with what we quoted and all requirements of the order are clearly defined so they can be handed over to the operational order execution team to execute and deliver the order.Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe key responsibilities for the role are as follows –
- Manages team of DGS techno-commercial experts (Product Specialists) in Slough/MG that constitute the commercial team which manage the “front end” (bid and order acceptance) for the Centre of Excellence.
- Support Turbo BDMs, global projects team and sales reps in larger projects and frame agreements including management of multi-site bidding for the same and in preparation of strategic business cases.
- Execute price strategy, create price guidelines and tools and monitor price realization and market share through won lost reporting.
- Provide commercial support and guidance to the local teams and account managers for DGS business.
- Lead order team responsible for managing intercompany orders from receipt from sales to handover to operations.
- Manage departmental procedures, adherence to, optimisation and audits.
- Manage key customers directly on site visits in the absence of local sales team or in supporting function.
- Support development of marketing, training and other enablement materials to support sales and other strategic initiatives.
- Actively maintain DGS global installed base and other datasets as needed.
- Facilitate and manage site visits for sales team.
- Manage metrics for area of responsibility inline with global corporate requirements.
- Preparation of monthly management reports on above topics.
- Order intake and associated sales forecast.
- Timely execution of high quality bids & order receipt to handover stage.
- Departmental Procedures (Control and Development).
- Departmental Team Development & succession planning.
- Strategic initiative success.
The IndividualThe ideal candidate will have the following skills/experience –
- At least 5+ years tenure in a commercial sales support role
- Expert knowledge of Dry Gas Seals markets, applications, and customers or Experience within manufacturing or engineering
- Experience in leading multi disciplined and/or cultural diverse teams in a global organisation
- Highly entrepreneurial with strong customer development experience
- Excellent communicator with strong influencing & collaboration skills
- Ability to deliver solution to complex problems with high level brief
