The Health Career Access Program (HCAP) offers employment as a Health Care Support Worker while you attend post-secondary and receive training to become a Health Care Aide. While in HCAP participants will receive financial support for training, tuition, textbooks, and more.Island Health provides health and care services to more than 885,000 people on Vancouver Island, the islands in the Salish Sea and the Johnstone Strait, and mainland communities north of Powell River. QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Training And ExperienceTo join the Health Career Access program (HCAP), you will have:

  • Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency status
  • Education Training and Experience
  • Grade 10, including successful completion of English 10 or
  • Must be able to meet college entrance requirements

Skills And Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work with others effectively
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, including evening and overnight shifts
  • Ability to organize work
