About the Role
Our Forensic Litigation and Consulting team in India is involved in complex, global and high-profile litigation, arbitration and investigations combining end-to-end risk advisory, investigative and disputes expertise to deliver holistic solutions for our clients.
As a Director in the Financial Services Consumer (“FSC”) India Practice, you’ll be supporting the U.S. team to provide bank regulatory consulting services and performing analysis for various client situations. You will also provide support to the FSC India Practice Senior Director in their oversight and day to day management of the FSC India team.
What You’ll Do
Working with the U.S. project teams support the FSC India team to:
- Perform and supervise day-to-day activities in support of financial institution consulting projects including interaction with client personnel, other team members, and professionals from other firms involved in the engagement.
- Perform technical, industry, and company research utilizing online tools and publicly available information, develop work plans and execute studies to assess complex questions of fact, prepare reports and schedules summarizing findings that will be delivered to clients and other parties.
- Apply banking, compliance, financial, and analytical skills to various client situations and practice disciplines, including development and review of client policies and procedures, processes and controls, risk assessments, corporate governance structure, compliance with bank regulations, operation efficiency, and management of risk.
- Establish procedures for maintaining detailed work paper records that reflect assumptions, methodologies, and sources of information employed during the performance of all analytical and review tasks
- Review all internal and external deliverables to ensure quality and validate project scope and findings.
- Collaborate with the U.S. team to develop and implement best practice quality control processes and guidelines.
- Perform periodic reviews to ensure processes and guidelines are current and effective.
- Monitor and participate in the creation of all Standard Operating Procedures used in support of work performed with the U.S. team.
- Monitor and track quality of work metrics for the FSC India Team
- Actively participate in continuous quality control reviews of project level work performed by the FSC India team and provide direct feedback as needed
- Identify FSC India team members that are not adhering to policies and procedures, and take remedial actions to resolve as required
- Facilitate communication between FSC India Practice and the U.S FSC Team regarding quality of work and quality management.
How You’ll Grow
- Develop a complete understanding of FTI Consulting’s business segment offerings and use that knowledge to recognize opportunities for FTI Consulting to help meet the needs of current and future clients.
- Develop new business relationships with banking professionals, attorneys, and company personnel to grow FTI Consulting’s business and work to foster on-going sales efforts to obtain additional opportunities.
- Support the Senior Director in the day to day management of the FSC India team.
- Organize information to facilitate effective data access and analysis. Supervise more junior team members’ work product.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance, Business, Law, Risk, Compliance or related field.
- At least 6-8 years of relevant post-graduate professional experience in financial services.
- Experience with regulatory compliance related to regulations including but not limited to:
- Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA),
- Fair Lending,
- Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP), and/or
- Mortgage related regulations (both mortgage originations and servicing).
- Ability to travel to clients and FTI Office(s) as needed.
- Ability to attend early/late hours’ regional/global meetings as needed.
- Strong experience with MS Office Tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
- Consulting experience working with financial services regulations and financial institutions.
- Professional experience working with consumer financial regulations within a consulting company, financial institution or regulatory agency.
- CRCM, CFE, or other relevant professional designation.
- Applicants should be comfortable managing fast-moving deadlines and change/ambiguity in projects.
