Role: Student Bursaries Administrator – Internal OnlyLocation: Bedford – Bedford CollegeSalary/Benefits: Salary from £24,000 DOE and Qualification, 27 days annual leave plus bank holiday, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.Working Pattern: 37 hours (1.0 FTE)Contract Type: Permanent – Full TimeAbout the role:We are looking for a Student Bursaries Administrator join our Finance Department. As an Administrator you will play a pivotal role in the success of the students through:
- Maintaining and updating the online student bursary system, ensuring accurate data management, timely award processing, and compliance with relevant policies.
- Processing payment runs, post accounting transactions, and ensure efficient use of allocated budgets in line with College financial procedures.
- Utilising technology to streamline bursary administration, enhance communication, and support financial reporting and reconciliation.
- Providing excellent customer service by addressing bursary queries and ensuring accurate reporting.
About you:
- Level 3 AAT.
- English and mathematics or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent or willingness to achieve English and mathematics Level 2 within one year
- Customer service training
- Recent continual professional development
- Experience of data management and analysis
- Intermediate level of competence in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent administrative skills
- Experience of working effectively in a customer focussed environment
- Experience of workings effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
- Experience of understanding how to promote equality and diversity within the job role
