The Environment and Social Sustainability Solutions Department (CEG) includes approximately 200 staff and consultants. CEG supports IFC’s investment and advisory teams in managing ESG risks and finding client solutions based on our&nbsp&nbsp •&nbsp Environmental and Social Performance Standards (http://www.ifc.org/performancestandards) and&nbsp&nbsp •&nbsp Corporate Governance Methodology (http://www.ifc.org/corporategovernance).&nbsp IFC seeks a dynamic, motivated Environmental &amp Social (E&ampS) Specialist with strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills to support its business in Thailand and the wider East Asia Pacific region. This professional will provide E&ampS guidance to clients and investment and advisory teams on E&ampS matters vis-à-vis IFC Performance Standards (PS) and Sustainability Policy, aiming to promote compliance and enhance the impact and additionality of IFC-supported business activities.&nbsp Roles and Responsibilities •&nbsp Lead or contribute to the assessment of E&ampS issues and risks in new investments and select advisory engagements in the financial intermediary and banking sectors •&nbsp Prepare concise public disclosure documents for new investments as well as internal documentation •&nbsp Lead or contribute to identifying and developing E&ampS risk mitigation measures and value-add solutions that support clients in addressing identified isses •&nbsp Provide clear and responsive guidance to IFC investment teams on E&ampS risk management in project decision-making and processing throughout the investment cycle •&nbsp Support formulation of E&ampS legal conditions for IFC projects •&nbsp Monitor portfolio clients and engage with them and their investment departments to achieve E&ampS compliance. Document and communicate any gaps in client performance vs. IFC requirements and related risks and opportunities •&nbsp Support industry teams and clients in response to Compliance Advisor Ombudsman (CAO) and Independent Evaluation Group (IEG) requests where needed •&nbsp Support client E&ampS capacity-building Selection Criteria •&nbsp Advanced degree (Masters) in science, engineering, or other relevant disciplines •&nbsp Minimum of five years of professional experience working on E&ampS management, monitoring, and/or due diligence, with a preference for private sector experience in Thailand and Asia Pacific •&nbsp Experience working with IFC/World Bank/ADB E&ampS Policies and Standards •&nbsp Willingness to travel regularly both inside Thailand and within the East Asia Pacific •&nbsp Strong analytical skills, ability to think strategically, analyze and summarize diverse sources, and draw conclusions from limited data •&nbsp Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines •&nbsp Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing circumstances, organize and prioritize deliverables, and maintain attention to detail •&nbsp Ability to communicate effectively and concisely on complex E&ampS issues in spoken and written form •&nbsp Proficiency in English is essential, with Thai language skills an advantage •&nbsp Ability to work effectively as a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team member, influence and negotiate points of view within teams •&nbsp High personal integrity and emotional intelligence, with the ability to handle sensitive matters discreetly and respectfully, respond diplomatically, and remain calm under pressure World Bank Group Core Competencies The World Bank Group offers comprehensive benefits, including a retirement plan medical, life and disability insurance and paid leave, including parental leave, as well as reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
