You will play an active role in the evolution and enablement of the British Underwater Test & Evaluation Centre by joining our highly technical multi-disciplined and enthusiastic engineers and project managers delivering the Systems Engineering aspects of identified Systems, Subordinate Systems & Components for projects across the IDT.Day-to-day, you will be responsible for:
- Setting the technical strategy, including the Product Roadmaps, for the portfolio and deliver against challenging objectives in line with the Integrated Strategic Business Plan (ISBP)
- Building and retaining strong relationships with customers, partners and colleagues at senior management levels to support the growth and successful delivery
- Forming and leading a team of Engineering Delivery Managers, System Design Authorities and Product Owners from across the company. Success will depend on your ability to excite and motivate efficient and effective teams to deliver quality outcomes for new and existing customers
- Setting the definition of technical maturation and progress tracking against requirement in support of the objectives of delivering to time, cost and quality
This role is 37 hours per week based at Various UK Locations. Hybrid working patterns are available.Essential experience of the Technical Authority:
- Previous experience in managing multiple multi-disciplinary teams across several remote sites
- Allocation, co-ordination, and maturation tracking of work within a portfolio of projects
- Strong commercial awareness including having a good knowledge of how an IDT and portfolio contributes to the business and a good understanding of competitors
- Experience in managing successful sub-contracts to time, cost and quality
- Previous experience of delivering complex systems and products
Qualifications for the Technical Authority:
- A degree in Science or Engineering, or an equivalent, nationally recognised, professional qualification, with extensive on the job experience and growth of key skills, working in the domain and backed up with a tangible track record of achievement
- A full clean UK driving licence
