Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday 8am-430pm.

What You Can Expect:

The HIM Specialist supports St. Luke’s Cancer Institute providers by ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient health information in the electronic medical record.

  • Medical Record Preparation: Prepares and validates charts for Medical Oncology providers to ensure accurate information for patient care.
  • Health Information Maintenance: Verifies, imports, preps, scans, and maintains patient health information in the electronic medical record in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Compliance Review: Reviews records for regulatory compliance, assigns deficiencies to providers, and tracks incomplete records to ensure timely updates.
  • Documentation Indexing: Monitors work queues to index patient health information accurately within the electronic health record.
  • Provider Communication: Communicates routinely with providers and staff to facilitate record completion and respond to information requests.
  • Release of Information: Processes health information requests following facility, state, and federal guidelines for continuity of care.
  • Clinic Coverage: Provides HIM support across SLCI locations, including Fruitland, Nampa, and Meridian, and manages phone inquiries and scanning tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 year experience.
