EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Full-time position

PRIMARY DUTY: The Director of Enterprise Applications is responsible for overseeing the administration, management, and optimization of the institution’s enterprise applications and systems, ensuring that all software solutions support the institution’s academic, administrative, and operational needs. This leadership role involves strategic planning, system implementation, ongoing maintenance, and coordination of cross-departmental efforts to support a seamless technology infrastructure across campus operations. The position will work closely with academic, administrative, and IT leadership to ensure the enterprise applications align with the university’s mission and goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Leads, manages, mentors, and provides day-to-day oversight of the Enterprise Applications Team including interviewing, hiring, training, assigning and managing work, and guiding the development of employee work plans 
  2. Provides technical leadership and mentoring of staff 
  3. Develops and manages productive relationships within the Information Technology department as well as faculty and staff at Northwest 
  4. Manages proactive responses to system outages to ensure minimal impact to the university continuity 
  5. Is responsible for overseeing the project management of the Enterprise Applications Team, to include maintaining, updating and reviewing the master team project list on a regular basis, assigning overall responsibility for projects, tasks and processes, and maintaining and communicating the status of multiple high-priority projects 
  6. Meets regularly with the AVP of Information Technology and other team leads in order to keep them abreast of specific issues and ensure individual team goals support mission and vision of Information Technology Department 
  7. Establishes and implements consistent standards and processes across the team in areas of change management, integration, development, and quality control for release management of applications
  8. In coordination with the AVP of Information Technology, provides overall direction of Enterprise Applications team goals, and implement those goals at the team level 
  9. Acts as the primary functional liaison for university applications
  10. Provides cost benefit analyses of alternative Enterprise Applications solutions
  11. Plans and manages application build, test, and deploy tasks
  12. Based upon user requirements, is responsible for designing, modifying and maintaining programs, processes, and scripts 
  13. Develops and implements centralized university application approval process
  14. Performs other duties as assigned that may arise in support of the team lead function

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in MIS, CIS, CSCI or related field

Experience: A minimum of three to five years of professional work experience in an IT field with demonstrated increasing levels of personal, professional and technical responsibility with preferred area of experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications; a minimum of four years in a technical leadership/management position; extensive experience with formal project management and implementing cross-functional and intra-departmental projects and systems 

Skills: Excellent leadership and supervisory skills with a demonstrated ability to successfully manage a diverse group of employees through discretion, professional judgment and effective personal communications; demonstrated technical abilities and effective teamwork skills in an Enterprise Applications team-centric environment; excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work with diverse campus constituencies; knowledge of current trends, ideas and resources in the Enterprise Applications area of Higher Education

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Work requires supervising and monitoring performance for the Enterprise Applications team including providing input on hiring/disciplinary actions and work objectives/effectiveness, administering performance evaluations, and realigning work as needed; Actively observe performance and behavior of team members and provide appropriate supervision, mentoring and coaching to correct problem behaviors, encourage positive professional behavior and teamwork, and assist team members with professional development

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
