Perficient has a career opportunity for Enterprise Architect / Multi-Solution Architect / Chief Architect within our Commerce and Customer Contact Center Business Unit. While our headquarters is located in St. Louis, MO, this position is remote and can be based anywhere within the United States. 

This candidate will design complex, enterprise-wide systems and integrations using best practices and patterns and guide the development and implementation of digital systems that support Commerce and Contact Center operations.

This role is at the forefront of our strategic initiatives, working directly with customers to shape programs that drive innovation and growth. The Enterprise Architect is responsible for creating a vision, strategy and governance model for the development across the enterprise. They will establish guiding principles, roadmaps, standards, patterns, and adaptable governance to deliver the strategy and drive the realization of business outcomes. The candidates’ primary responsibility will be to provide Enterprise Architecture best practices, analysis and design, proven integration patterns and market research in support of our complex Enterprise Customers. This person should be comfortable working in a challenging and fast-paced environment as well as working with senior leaders including C-Level in identifying technology trends and disruptors and then developing strategic plans.

As an Enterprise Architect you will be a trusted advisor to our clients, shaping and executing their business transformation agendas through technology. You will be providing strategic leadership and direction: overall guidance, strategic direction, and definition of corporate architectures to effectively support the overall business strategy and vision.

You will help them navigate their largest strategic initiatives and most critical problems at the intersection of business and technology, including digital disruption, enterprise transformation and innovation, global operating models, sustainability, value management and more.

Your job

Enterprise Architecture professionals at Perficient create strategies and plans to define how technology should be utilized to support an organization’s overall business strategy and maximize value. You will provide Enterprise Architect expertise to support strategic transformations and tactical analysis to assess organizational effectiveness by bringing transparency to knowledge, data, and process workflows while helping organizations achieve desired business outcomes. Use your understanding of business strategy and their affinity with technology to define the strategy, operating model, enterprise architectures and transformation roadmaps that help our clients deliver competitive advantage and superior business performance. Maintain knowledge of best practices, industry landscapes and emerging technologies, and apply these to develop innovative business solutions.

Enterprise Architect / Multi-Solution Architect / Chief Architect 

Purpose of this role is to define the overall architecture / solution for major client programs encompassing large-scale business transformation, multiple technologies and Perficient business units.

Core Responsibilities: 

Strategic Planning

  • Align with the organization’s business strategy & goals as well as their data & technology landscape
  • Identify and define business capabilities to guide target architecture 

System Design

  • Define the overall architecture, identify and evaluate risks; and perform assessments and gap analysis; Consider options and tradeoffs 
  • Ensures scalability, security, maintainability, and performance. 
  • Identify Integration with enterprise systems, third parties, and data sources. 

Technology Evaluation: 

  • Drive and own the selection of appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools for platform implementation. 

Standards and Guidelines

  • Manage reference architecture patterns, methodologies, processes, workflows. 
  • Establish and enforce platform standards, coding practices, and guidelines.
  • Stay up to date on the latest trends and best practices. 

Potential Responsibilities: 

Strategic Planning

  • Guide creation of integrated business and technology roadmap
  • Create align between IT and business stakeholders 

Collaboration

  • Lead the design and implementation of the platform, ensuring scalability, security, maintainability, and performance. 
  • Collaborate with developers, designers, and other stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle. 
  • Mentor and guide junior team members

Technology Evaluation: Oversee platform selection and implementation of the platforms 

Governance: Definition and assurance to standards for technical documentation, communications, nomenclature, design documents, ensuring consistency, readability, and completeness. 

Risk Management: Provide oversight for all aspects of ongoing operations, maintenance and management of the solution domain. 

Partner with the Commerce Sales Team, Strategist and Architects to support sales pursuits from the following perspectives: a) positioning and approach, b) sizing/estimation and c) planning.

Our Enterprise Architects have the following competences:

Background and Experience: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. 
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in enterprise architecture, software development, or a combination of both. 
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing complex software solutions. 
  • Experience working with development frameworks and technologies is a plus. 
  • Strong understanding of security best practices and data governance principles. 
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to think strategically and translate business needs into technical solutions. 
  • Proficiency in relevant architecture modeling tools (e.g., UML, ArchiMate). 
  • Enterprise-level experience in composable/headless enterprise architectures and micro-services environments
  • 3+ years of proven expertise of managing and leading cross-functional matrixed teams. Ability to coach resources to elevate performance and drive results.
  • Experience managing relationships, coalitions and communications with senior and executive level business and technology leaders to influence desired outcomes without direct authority
  • Knowledge of a modern, cloud-based enterprise architecture best practices and patterns
  • Ability to understand how to navigate a complex organization, understand the big picture, and influence the enterprise to leverage technology in alignment with our strategies.
  • Eager to deep dive into various areas of organizational, information and technology architecture

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $92,118 to $232,730. Please note that the salary range posted reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits or any potential equity or variable bonus programs.
