The Role

As the Director of Consultancy, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of Blonk’s consultancy division. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll lead a dynamic team of 20+ highly skilled consultants with unique expertise in animal production systems, crop management, and land use change, all grounded in LCA expertise. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Business strategy: collaborate closely with the Managing Director and the
  • Commercial Director to formulate, implement, and monitor the business development
  • strategy for the Consultancy division.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Foster a high-performance culture that encourages excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Mentor and support your team in developing their skills and expertise. Participate actively in recruitment and talent development to build a strong consultancy division.
  • Division and Process Management: Oversee all operational activities, ensuring optimal performance in project delivery, client management, and resource allocation. This includes leading budget planning, forecasting, and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Client Relations and Project Oversight: Cultivate strong client relationships, managing complex projects that are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Establish Blonk as a trusted advisor in the sustainability sector, offering expert solutions that support clients’ long-term sustainability targets.
  • Innovation and Quality Management: Promote a culture of innovation and continuous imrovement, maintaining Blonk’s leadership in sustainability consulting. Uphold high standards, ensuring compliance with data security and methodological integrity.
  • LCA and Methodology Expertise: As an LCA leader, you will share your knowledge with both your team and clients, ensuring our methods remain at the forefront of scientific rigor. You will actively contribute to the development and implementation of our LCA frameworks.

YOUR PROFILE

Your Profile:

10+ years of consultancy experience, ideally in LCA/footprinting.

Recognized thought leader in environmental footprinting and a technical expert in LCA.

Proven experience in business scaling, market expansion, and operational management.

Academic background in sustainability, environmental engineering, or a related field.

Skilled in team leadership, change management, and strategic planning.

Strong ownership mindset, with effective budget management skills.

Ability to lead and drive strategic growth.

Adept at engaging stakeholders, resolving conflicts, and creating win-win solutions.

Ability to translate vision into innovative, actionable solutions.

Experience in the agri-food sector & Familiarity with ISO 9000/27000 standards are a plus
