What about the Deputy Logistics Coordinator ?

As Deputy Logistics Coordinator, under the responsibility of the Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for participating in the implementation of a logistics framework tailored and organized around an efficient supply chain, a properly sized logistics support at the mission level. You will also be committed to the management, respect, compliance and efficient implementation of all related policies, rules, procedures and good practices at coordination level. You will support the Logistics Coordinator in the technical management of logistics managers upon request.

For this purpose, you will be responsible for :

  • Supply Chain: You will be responsible for implementing the supply chain strategy at coordination level. You will ensure that the administrative and operational components of the supply chain are in place and functional. You will guarantee that PUI’s related procedures, policies and tools linked with purchases, transport and storage are in place and are respected. You will support the Logistics Coordinator in making relevant links woven with HQ so as to avoid delays, loss, gaps in the HQ – field supply chain.
  • Support logistics management: You will ensure that all coordination teams have the means, resources and tools they need to carry out their activities. You will actively support the Logistics Coordinator in shaping the mission in terms of materials, equipment, services allowing a well-functioning of the bases.
  • Security : You will ensures that the necessary means and frameworks are available to implement security rules related to communications, movements and facility management at coordination level.
  • Team management: In collaboration with the logistics coordinator, you will be responsible for the tailoring of the coordination logistics team. You will be responsible for the line management of the logistics managers’ team at coordination level in accordance with related HR policies and procedures, including recruitment and performance management.
  • Strategy: You will support the Logistics Coordinator in the mission logistics strategy designing, including supply chain, support and logistics operations together with the Coordination team.
  • Coordination: Under the supervision of the logistics coordinator, You will consolidate and share logistics related information, data at Coordination, bases and HQ levels.
  • Representation: On Logistics Coordinator request, you will represent the organization in forums, amongst partners, authorities and different local actors involved in the logistics fields..

  • Support and train Geneina Log team

What you will need to succeed

  • Training

You hold a degree in logistics (purchases, transport). If you have attended some Humanitarian or Bioforce training courses, that will be much apreciated.

  • Experience

Strengthened by minimum 1 year of logistics Experience in Humanitarian sector and minimum one year of general management experience. A previous experience in a similar field would be appreciated. You already worked with Première Urgence Internationale? It would be a definite asset!

  • Skills

You have strong knowledge of procurement and supply chain in humanitarian context, as well as proven management experience and organizational skills. You know how to draft a report and have ICT skills. Specific experience in medical supply chain, as well as experience in customs, importation will be appreciated.

  • Qualities

You have a strong work ethic, are committed and disciplined within busy working environment. You demonstrate an ability to take initiatives and responsibilities. You have good analytical and judgmental skills and you are able to prioritize. You demonstrate good organization as well as good stress management skills.

  • Languages

English has no secrets for you! All the better, it is mandatory for this position. If you speak French, it would be a definite asset.

  • Status : Employee with a Fixed-Term Contract
  • Monthly Gross Income : 2 340,00 – 2 500,00 EUR depending on your experience in International Solidarity + 50€ per semester of seniority with PUI
  • Insurance including medical coverage and complementary healthcare, 24/24 assistance and repatriation
  • Housing in collective accomodation
  • Daily Living Expenses (« Per Diem »)
  • Break Policy : 5 working days at 3 and 9 months + break allowance
  • Paid Leaves Policy : 5 weeks of paid leaves per year + return ticket every 6 months
