Under the general direction of the Manager, Health Information, directs and coordinates activities of the data integrity and compliance monitoring staff in HIM to assure efficient workflow; Ensures accurate monitoring and reporting on documentation standards compliance for the medical center; Performs daily monitoring of systems and workflow; Monitors productivity, maintains appropriate staffing levels and supervises staff; Trains staff; and assists in the development of policies and procedures and understands the integration of all systems that affect department operations.

Required qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree or Associate’s Degree in progress, from an accredited education institution
  • If Associate’s Degree is in progress, it must be completed within three years from date of hire into the position
  • Epic HIM certification upon 1 year of hire.
  • upon hire: National Registered Health Information Administrator – American Health Information Management Association. Or
  • upon hire: National Registered Health Information Technician – American Health Information Management Association.
  • 2 years acute care Health Information Management experience
  • 1 year supervisory experience required –or- three years progressively responsible Health Information Management experience may be considered in lieu of supervisory experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) – American Health Information Management Association upon hire

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
