About this Role
The Manchester Institute of Biotechnology is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join its operations team providing professional PA, administrative and communications support to the Institute Director and Leadership Team.
The post holder will report directly to the Institute Operations Manager and will be part of a team working flexibly across organisational boundaries supporting a culture of excellent service provision and continuous improvement.
This is a dynamic and critical role to help facilitate the smooth running of Institute providing professional PA, administrative and communications support to the Institute Director and Leadership Team, with a range of tasks related to operations management, estates, risk, compliance and health and safety provision.
This role is ideal for candidates looking to get involved in project and operations management, assisting in the promotion of the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology, one of the leading biotechnology institutes in Europe.
Applicants should have significant relevant experience of working with administrative processes in a customer facing office environment, ideally within an international, academic, scientific working environment.
Candidates should have the ability to prioritise their own workload in meeting requirements and deadlines, with strong literacy and numeracy skills. Evidence of self-motivation and the ability to work flexibly either alone or as part of a team is essential.
This is a full-time role working 5 days a week. The role is based at the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology on Princess Street.

The Manchester Institute of Biotechnology was founded in 2006 to facilitate cross-disciplinary research to develop new biotechnologies that have applications in human health, the energy economy, food security and the environment.
We are home to over 40 research groups who lead a portfolio of pioneering research projects that continue to advance our knowledge and uses of biotechnology. This research is helping to drive the UK’s strategic development of biomanufacturing, specifically in the areas of pharmaceuticals, value-added chemicals, advanced materials, and next-generation biofuels.

Please note, under the new immigration rules this role is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route of the Points Based System. Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate their right to work in the UK in order to be eligible to take up the post.
