Objectives of the Position
Head Trainer, Refinish Coatings Asia Pacific Importers implements and develops competencies and skillsets for customers’ technical personnel by deployment of training and service packages for all BASF refinish coatings brands as well as bodyshop consultancy services.
Main Tasks
- Implement the global training solutions and service packages into importer partners and bodyshop organizations based on Asia Pacific regional and market requirements (Technical + bodyshop consultancy, internal + external)
- Implement refinish coatings product and colour services training packages to targeted Asia Pacific markets (e.g. ASEAN, India, Korea).
- Implement bodyshop consultancy program to the targeted Asia Pacific markets.
- Support product demonstration at the bodyshop, during tender process, and new product launch events.
- Get into the market to understand the market needs, and share the insights with the internal commercial team and technology team responsible for Importer business.
- Identify the training needs for products, colors and bodyshop consultancy for Importers
- Implement development plans for external Primary Trainers at Importers, including coaching guidelines on best practice, educational methods according to curriculum. Follow the guidance of Regional Trainer from Global Technology Application team.
- Implement the technical skill development solutions for all customer-facing technical staff ( e.g. distributors, importers, and 3rd party service providers) to create a scaling effect of technical field know-how, enhance efficiencies, ensure One Voice Policy to Asia Pacific markets and ensure the effective use of our products and solutions.
- Continuously develop general knowledge of the relevant markets and attain exceptional skills in product & process information, technology, and knowledge transfer methods (didactics).
Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position
- Education: Technical college, vocational school or above
- Exceptional written and oral, presentation and communication abilities in English, other Asian language skills a plus
- Formal educational accreditation in refinish paint application or refinish trade qualifications.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a related automotive refinish Technical Training role.
- Experience in “Train-the-Trainer” approach
- Ability to manage through a matrix organization
- Ability to work autonomous and responsibly according to main tasks and objectives
- Equip with customer centric mindset, good at communication especially with both internal stakeholders and customers
- Familiar with Microsoft Office products
