Line of Service AssuranceIndustry/Sector InsuranceSpecialism Actuarial ServicesManagement Level ManagerJob Description & Summary A career in our Risk Modelling Services (RMS) team as a Property & Casualty Actuary, will provide you with the opportunity to contribute risk modeling and general insurance advice and consulting services to companies spanning multiple sectors including insurance companies, reinsurance companies and government agencies, as well as audit support for various insurance entities. You will work directly with our experienced actuaries and other actuarial associates on a wide range of projects including reserving, pricing, solvency and capital management, economic capital, financial condition testing, and the impact of new laws and regulations. You will also have the opportunity to provide oversight on insurance pricing services, risk modeling for emerging risks like climate and cyber, and help to develop tools and models that leverage machine learning and advanced finance analytics.With us, you will have a clear career path, leaders who care about and support your development and goals. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Manage a broad range of actuarial consulting services and transformation initiativesWork closely with our Senior Actuaries on our appointed actuary services including actuarial liability valuation and financial condition testing, product development, mergers & acquisition, advisory services, and insurance accounting standards (IFRS 17)Support the accounting teams to identify and review financial risk issues related to the actuarial aspects of the auditManaging actuarial reviews and analyzing client information in order to conclude whether the actuarial liabilities are fairly presented in the financial statementParticipate in our pricing, climate and cyber risk modelling strategy, and work with our risk teams from ESG, Sustainability and CyberSeek and participate in business development activities such as development of service proposals and quotes, industry presentations, marketing material, as well fostering good communication with PwC clients to support relationship buildingSupport engagement deliveryWork collaboratively with actuaries and other actuarial students on a variety of projects, including cross-functional projects with other departments within PwCPresent findings and recommendations to non-actuarial teams a clear and non-technical mannerCoach actuaries in their technical and professional career developmentExperiences and skills you’ll use to solveSignificant experience as a P&C actuaryFellow or Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society and Canadian Institute of ActuariesExperience with personal lines and/or commercial lines pricingKnowledge on the use of various pricing software, considered an assetHands on policy liability valuation, financial condition testing, IFRS 17,or predictive modeling experienceExceptional commitment to providing excellent client service, by building and maintaining productive relationships with both internal and external clientsAdvanced analytical, problem solving and multitasking/project management skillsProficiency in reserving or statistical applications such as Arius, R, and @RiskProven ability working with data analytic tools (Tableau, Alteryx, VBA) considered an assetContinuous improvement mind-set, challenges the status quo and seeks self improvementStrong written and oral communication skills, including experience presenting in a business contextPrior experience within a consulting or advisory role (or capable to work in a consulting/audit environments and project-based work) considered an assetExperience with climate risk modeling, considered an assetA demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, developing and coaching diverse teams, and ensuring diverse perspectives are heardWhy you’ll love PwC
