SHAPE is looking for employing a qualified and suitable candidate to fill this post as a temporary staff from 1 January 2025 until 30 June 2025. If you meet the requirements described in the job description below and wish to work in a fast paced international environment, this post is for you.

In view of the nature and of the urgency of this temporary position, it is important for candidates to be available for temporary employment. POST CONTEXT

SHAPE provides an integrated Strategic Effects framework, employing a multi-domain and multi-region focus to create a 360-degree approach, with the flexibility to enable, upon direction, a seamless transition from Baseline Activities and Current Operations (BACO) up to the Maximum Level of Effort (MLE). SHAPE supports SACEUR in fulfilling his terms of reference, as directed by the North Atlantic Council.

As a directorate uniquely established at the strategic level, the Cyberspace Directorate has oversight of all cyberspace activities across Allied Command Operations ACO, at all levels of command.

The Cyberspace Operations Centre (CyOC) is NATO’s only Theatre Component for cyberspace, providing persistent, centralised and comprehensive cyberspace situational awareness, C2 and execution. The CyOC is within the SHAPE establishment but with different roles and responsibilities.

The CyOC Situational Awareness (SA) Branch incorporate all aspects of cyberspace situational awareness, from all sources, creating the theatre-wide cyberspace recognised picture.

The Situational Awareness Support (SA SPT) Section analyses technical cyberspace vulnerability assessments and instigates consequence mitigating activities. 

The incumbent is a CyOC contribution to support the core processes needed to provide situational awareness in the cyber space domain.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

The incumbent’s duties in fulfilling this responsibility include but is not limited to:

Contribute to the development of CyOC deliverables (reports, Plans, SOPs)

Participate, contribute and organize meetings and conferences. Keep an up-todate plan on upcoming CyOC events.

Support the CyOC users in administering the Information Knowledge Management (IKM) tools and Services (EDMS, NIP, TT+)

Support and contribute to RFI process within CyOC and engage with different stakeholders POC

Ensure that all Information Management processes and activities within CyOC are coherentand integrated with overall SHAPE IKM directives, guidance and principles.

Support the identification of Information Management requirements at CyOC level.

Cooperate and collaborate across the CyOC, regarding continuous IKM improvement.

Promote effective and efficient collection, organisation, storage and dissemination of information, and the sharing of knowledge within CyOC.

Support the users by advising on the implementation of relevant IKM policies and best practices.

Assist in the organisation of staff work (e.g., point papers, PowerPoint presentations, etc.) as required;

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • May be required to formally represent section head at meetings on specific IKM issues.
  • May be required to make general cyberspace-related presentations and provide cyberspace training as part of CyOC’s contribution to NATO cyberspace training
  • The incumbent may be required to perform like duties elsewhere within the organisation as directed
  • The work is normally performed in a typical Office environment. Normal Working Conditions apply. The risk of injury is categorised as: No risk / risk might increase when deployed

QUALIFICATIONS

A. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

1. Professional/Experience

Post requires:

  • Experience/knowledge in the development of SOPs and TTPs.
  • Experience and ability to develop extensive networks of stakeholders.
  • SharePoint user with knowledge in designing of SharePoint portals and proficiency in Information Management (IM) practices.
  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience combined within Information Management and/or Cyber Defense.
  • Activities that encompass the identification of required information, the collation and refinement of information from a variety of sources.

The overall governance of how all types of information, structured and unstructured, whether produced internally or externally, are used to support decision-making, business processes and digital services. Encompasses development and promotion of the strategy and policies covering the design of information structures and taxonomies, the setting of policies for the sourcing and maintenance of the data content, and the development of policies, procedures, working practices and training to promote compliance with legislation regulating all aspects of holding, use and disclosure of data.

Understands and complies with relevant organizational policies and procedures, taking responsibility for assessing and managing risks around the use of information. Ensures that information is presented effectively. Ensures that effective controls are in place for internal delegation, audit and control and that the board receives timely reports and advice that will inform their decisions.

Activities that encompass the identification of required information, the tasking of collection assets, the collation and refinement of information from a variety of intelligence sources.

2. Education/Training

University Degree in Information technology, computer science, computer networking and communications, and 1 year functional related experience or Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training in that discipline leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with at least 5 years post related experience

B. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Professional/Experience

  • Experience of collaborative working including with geographically displaced stakeholders
  • Experience in the development of Information Management policy
  • Knowledge/experience of NATO organization
  • Previous experience in serving at a NATO entity or government organization

WHAT WE OFFER

  • 38 hours per week schedule;
  • 2.5 paid days of leave per month worked;

  • Contract period: definite duration contract until 30/06/2025;
  • Salary: the remuneration of temporary personnel will be specified in their contracts. It is exempt from taxation in the Host Nation;
  • Benefits package: temporary personnel are covered by a benefits package which consists of an additional sum of 12% of basic salary for pension purposes + basic medical and accident insurance provided under the NATO Group insurance contract (death and invalidity). The cost for insurance amounts to 2.57% of basic salary (2/3 payable by the Organisation and 1/3 payable by staff);
  • For staff eligible under NATO rules, there is also a dependent child allowance and coverage for dependent children for medical benefits.
