Job Description:
The Director of Enterprise Information Management (EIM) is responsible to provide leadership, management, planning and support for our Enterprise Reporting and Integration technologies. This role will help define and implement the data strategy for the organization: how data is shared across the enterprise and how it is used for decision support purposes. Additionally, this role will help grow the data maturity of the organization by creating a world-class team to support the technology as well as educate the organization about master data management, data cleanliness and overall data hygiene.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct the EIM program including managing our technical strategy, product and delivery roadmaps, implementations and support.
- Function as a trusted advisor to all stakeholders, providing guidance and expertise on leveraging our reporting and analytics technology to drive business value and achieve strategic objectives.
- Continue to mature our data management practices of the organization by evolving our Enterprise data model, increasing focus on data requirements and standards across our application space and architecting a robust integration strategy for our critical data stores.
- Manage EIM technologists, budget, and external vendors or partners, to optimize resource allocation and support business priorities. Provide the guidance of an “architect first” approach to development to provide both near-term and long-term quality delivery objectives.
- Demonstrate financial acumen by managing program, capital and expense budgets and by managing all accounts payable processes for the EIM team.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between the EIM team and business stakeholders, especially the Commercial organization and Finance Analytics team.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to the team, providing feedback and guidance. Support members of all teams as they develop skills through training, knowledge sharing, and problem solving.
- Facilitate the coordination and implementation of Corporate IT and security initiatives as it relates to EIM technology.
- Manage third party vendors through healthy relationships, current contracts, and understanding vendor technical roadmaps translating them into plans to stay on supported and secure platforms.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in an environment of rapid change while maintaining enthusiasm and displaying sound judgment.
- Be disciplined and show high personal ethics and a strong customer service focus.
- Demonstrate excellent project management and organizational skills, along with demonstrable experience of managing multiple priorities concurrently.
SKILL AND ABILITIES:
1. Self-starter, results-oriented, team-focused and able to execute multiple projects simultaneously.
2. Must be able to work independently but collaboratively across the different IT and business functions. Must be a hands-on leader.
3. Excellent project management methodology skills such as waterfall, agile, etc.
4. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
6. Excellent time management skills.
7. Demonstrated data modeling expertise including a strong understanding of data sources, relational and dimensional modeling, effective uses of business data (validity, timeliness, and benefit).
8. Ability to specify and document data warehouse and data mart requirements.
9. Strong experience with ETL tools, such as SSIS and Informatica, as well as familiarity with standard data extract, de-duping, cleansing, integration, and aggregation techniques and best practices.
10. Strong experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Cognos, Tableau or similar tools.
11. Strong experience with cloud integration tools such as MuleSoft, Informatica or similar tools.
12. Understanding of both traditional and latest cloud-based or hybrid BI Architecture.
13. Experience working with analytics and machine-learning deliverables.
14. Experience delivering solutions using newer generation data visualization tools and methods.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Bachelor’s degree or commensurate employment experience. A Master’s degree in a data management discipline is a plus.
2. 7-10 years of experience in technology solutions roles or having experience planning and executing technology implementation projects and 3-5 years of experience leading technology teams.
3. 7-10 years’ experience in with business intelligence, data warehousing/management and integration tools with progressively increased levels of responsibility.
