About the Position
CIVIC is seeking a consultant to conduct a baseline study for our “Contributing to Peaceful and Safe Societies” project that will be implemented over an eight-year span (2024 to 2031). While this position is remote, the incumbent should have the willingness and ability to travel to Mali, Somalia, Yemen, the US, and Europe frequently and often on short notice.
Key Functions
In consultation with CIVIC staff:
- Analyze and refine the baseline methodology and baseline matrix.
- Identify and finalize data collection tools as well as stakeholders who will participate in data collection.
- Develop and implement data collection strategy and plan for the baseline study.
- Conduct portions of data collection directly, as needed, while providing technical guidance and support to field staff in Mali, Somalia, and Yemen.
- Validate findings through consultations with CIVIC staff and other relevant stakeholders.
- Analyze collected data and draft the baseline report and other deliverables.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience leading baseline studies in the MENA and Africa region.
- Extensive experience (5+ years) leading baseline and evaluation studies.
- Demonstrated familiarity and experience designing and leading data collection processes.
- Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses and writing reports.
- Excellent reading, writing, and reporting skills in English are required; knowledge of Arabic, Somali, and French is an asset.
