Position description
Solar Heat Europe/ESTIF is looking for a dynamic person who will be steering the Policy work of the Association.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Drive the advocacy activities of Solar Heat Europe to support the uptake of solar heat technologies.
- Monitor and advise on relevant EU policy developments with a specific focus on renewable heating and cooling.
- Support the National Associations’ advocacy and successful implementation of the relevant Fit for 55 package notably RED, EED, EPBD and NZIA.
- Draft position papers and contribute to relevant consultations, coordinating input with members.
- Coordinate the internal Working Groups activities of Solar Heat Europe, notably related to Buildings and provide support to members.
- Engage in joint advocacy activities with related sectors involved in the energy transition and the decarbonisation of heat in particular.
- Contribute to the policy-related aspects of EU projects acquired by the Association.
- Support the communication activities of Solar Heat Europe.
Qualifications
- A relevant university degree in political sciences or EU studies and at least 3-5 years’ experience.
- A solid understanding of EU policymaking and political system.
- A genuine interest in renewable energy and energy decarbonisation and ideally, some knowledge of solar thermal technologies.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Good writing and communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Excellent level of English (other EU languages are an asset).
- EU citizenship.
