Role Overview

The Vice President of Consulting Operations is a key leadership role responsible for driving growth-focused efforts and managing business operations for the firm’s Lines of Business (LOBs). This individual collaborates with consulting leaders as well as Talent, Finance, Marketing, Knowledge Management, and other functions to design and implement priority initiatives and support the firm’s mission to provide outstanding value to clients and stakeholders. Responsibilities span business planning, product development, go-to-market activation, operations, and business development and sales, among others. The Vice President will support priority offerings across the firm, with a focus on one or more LOBs.

Responsibilities

Consulting Management and Operations

  • Partner with Chartis Consulting, various LOBs, and cross-practice leadership to deliver against strategic, operational, and financial goals while maintaining a focus on continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Serve as a trusted thought partner to senior leaders, contributing to the development and execution of LOB and practice priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with firm-wide processes and best practices, including legal, financial, project management, and people.

Business Development and Sales

  • Lead the proposal process for key pursuits and sales opportunities, offering strategic guidance and mentoring colleagues as needed.
  • Review proposals and pricing models to ensure quality and alignment with firm standards.
  • Maintain pulse on market trends, competitors, and the firm’s differentiators.

Product Development and Go-to-Market Activation

  • Work with consulting leaders to refine and expand service offerings to meet market demand and client needs.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders, clearly articulating the firm’s value proposition.
  • Partner with leadership and Marketing to implement overarching marketing and thought leadership plans.

People Leadership

  • Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to team members, fostering their growth and success.
  • Cultivate strong relationships across the firm to promote collaboration and a positive team environment.

Qualifications and Desired Skills

  • 12+ years’ experience working in a professional services firm required, with healthcare-focused consulting experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven ability to build trust and credibility with senior leaders and diverse teams.
  • Skilled at managing multiple high-level projects and priorities simultaneously, balancing strategic objectives with detailed execution.
  • Experience in structuring and solving complex, ambiguous problems, and translating insights into actionable plans.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively in written and verbal formats.
  • A track record of coaching and mentoring high performing team members while fostering a supportive, people-first culture.
  • The role is remote, with occasional travel required for firm meetings.

Salary range: $170,000-$230,000, plus may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, practice area, and other business and organizational needs.
