Overview
The Center for Education Technical Assistance (CETA) has an opening for an experienced Senior Research Education Analyst.
CETA serves clients by building the professional capacity of educators and those who support the educational landscape by overcoming challenges, improving practice, and sustaining performance while focusing on student outcomes. From the classroom to the boardroom and beyond, we provide technical assistance to clients to solve their most pressing problems within their given context. Our clients include schools, districts, state education agencies, government agencies at all levels and other nonprofit organizations in the United States
The individual chosen will provide a broad range of supports to existing and new projects, including facilitating and directing capacity building approaches in education technical assistance at federal, state, and local levels; communicate effectively about work in training and technical assistance; and lead and manage project tasks and budgets. The successful candidate will have expertise in providing capacity building, change management, and implementation of evidence-based practices in elementary and secondary education settings for federal, state, and local agencies and other clients. The successful candidate will also have experience leading and providing training, technical assistance, and consulting services for the Department of Education (ED) and/or state education agencies (SEA).
This position will develop and manage a portfolio of federal and state education technical assistance projects of significant technical complexity, collaborate to support scientific stature to advance RTI’s capabilities, and expand RTI’s ability to impact education outcomes through business development.
This position can be based in Research Triangle Park, NC or remote from anywhere within the U.S (full-time telecommuter).
Responsibilities
- Serve as project director and task lead for large tasks and budgets for education technical assistance projects.
- Tasks may involve providing direct technical assistance to clients, design and development of trainings for clients, coaching and consulting directly and indirectly to clients, creating learning materials and resources, and producing other client deliverables.
- Build internal and external strategic partnerships for CETA and RTI to build a nationally recognized reputation for federal and state technical assistance.
- Contribute to client engagement and business development in the arena of federal and state-level technical assistance.
- Generate business opportunities by establishing close client relationships and being recognized for technical expertise.
- Lead both the business and technical portions of contract proposals.
- Write proposal sections of moderate to significant technical complexity requiring application of evidence-based practices in capacity building approaches.
- Provide project management and quality assurance of technical assistance and research activities.
- Communicate clearly in writing (e.g., project reports; peer-reviewed publications) and orally with internal and external clients.
- Support and implement RTI’s quality management and client listening programs.
- Contribute to project work at defined direct project rate (DPR) targets.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and at least 15 years of experience, or a Master’s degree and at least 12 years of experience, or a PhD and at least 8 years of experience in an education or social science field.
- Expertise in technical assistance with at least 3 years of experience leading federal or SEA education technical assistance projects.
- A record of leading or contributing significantly to winning grant and contract proposals for federal, state, and/or local agencies; foundations; and/or other non-profit organizations.
- Ability to lead and work within teams and establish and maintain good working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and clients.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and statistical computing software.
- Successful project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, staff supervision, and client interaction.
- Ability to lead and coordinate project management, technical assistance, and education research projects.
- Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities.
- Ability to listen and communicate well both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work well independently and with others.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week as workload and deadlines may require.

- To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa status, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience as an educator in an elementary or secondary education settings.
