In this full time, max term contract for an initial 12 month appointment (with potential for extension beyond this), you’ll work as a part of our Pacific Regional team in Australia / New Zealand / across the Pacific region to help us create lasting change for children everywhere. The Regional Project Lead plays an important role in delivering on our vision of a better world for children. Whether it’s coordinating the delivery of SCA’s obligations under the REnew Pacific project or leading s takeholder engagement and consultations to support locally led and informed approaches to project design you’ll be contributing to our commitment to children in Australia, the Pacific and around the world.
You will make a difference by:
· Provide strategic leadership and oversight for SCA’s inputs to REnew project implementation across multiple Pacific Island countries.
· Develop and execute quarterly workplans, ensuring strategic priorities, pipeline management, and portfolio development align with REnew’s objectives.
· Undertake risk assessments, GEDSI, PSEAH, and CP evaluations for all proposals submitted under the Renew project call for proposals, direct delivery, and other channels.
· Coordinate the review (and provide) recommendations on local partners’ GEDSI and safeguarding policies to align with best practices and comply with donor standards. Develop and implement targeted GEDSI, PSEAH, and CP tools to support training and awareness initiatives for local partners.
· Closely monitor partnerships to ensure they satisfy standards of good organisational practice and meet agreed results and have capacity strengthening plans in place.

You are a sound leader with at least five (5) years of senior management experience in a similar role and preferably in a I/NGO or environmental or international development environment. This includes experience in directing and implementing large scale development programs with in the renewable energy sector and/or programs that are child-led and/or participatory. You are flexible, resilient, and adept at managing change and thrive on working in challenging contexts. You have highly developed relationship and interpersonal skills and value collaboration and partnership.
This role requires:
· Tertiary qualification/s in a relev ant and related discipline in social and international development.
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in management roles within an I/NGO or environmental or international development environment or similar context in the Pacific Region.
· Demonstrated significant experience in Save the Children’s priority thematic sectors of health/nutrition, education, protection, and cash/livelihoods in a developing country and emergency/humanitarian context (e.g., design, obtaining funding, and implementation (including budget), and MEAL).
· Sound program cycle management experience and ability to work in a complex organisation structure.
· Demonstrated management and development of diverse teams of national and international professional staffs; must be culturally sensitive.
· Proven sound strategic thinking and planning skills, including ability to think strategically and creatively, analyse and be innovative, set prior ities, manage work plans and evaluate progress, and meet deadlines in a complex environment.
