UNICEF Innocenti – Global Office of Research and Foresight drives change for children and young people by generating evidence, collecting data, featuring the voices of children and offering foresight on frontier issues and emerging practices. Our work aims to inform policy and advocacy that will eventually help UNICEF and the global community protect the lives and rights of children, young people and families.
Context
UNICEF’s Global Office of Research and Foresight has completed regional consultations with 41 children and young people from 18 countries, along with UNICEF staff and experts from academia and civil society. The resulting document synthesizes key findings about children’s participation in civil and political processes, highlighting barriers, innovations, and recommendations for various stakeholders. The finalized text requires professional integration into our existing publication template to create a polished, visually appealing, and accessible resource that will effectively communicate these important findings to stakeholders worldwide.
Task Description
The selected online volunteer will integrate the finalized text document “Beyond being heard: the right of children and youth to participation in a changing world” (3,900 words) into UNICEF’s existing publication template. This includes: Working with the provided Word/InDesign file to maintain consistent design and layout while incorporating the complete text Researching adequate pictures (5 of them) in UNICEF’s database and position them using the template guidelines Applying appropriate typography and visual hierarchy to enhance readability Highlighting key quotes from youth participants throughout the document Ensuring proper formatting of headings, subheadings, footnotes, and resource lists Creating visually distinct sections that align with the document’s structure Preparing final files for digital distribution Making minor text adjustments as needed to accommodate layout requirements Integrate small changes following proof-reading
