The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is an operational arm of the United Nations, supporting the successful implementation of its partners’ peacebuilding, humanitarian and development projects around the world. UNOPS hosts the Stop TB Partnership Secretariat (STBP) in Geneva, Switzerland. The vision of the Stop TB Partnership is to realize the goal of elimination of Tuberculosis (TB) as a public health problem and, ultimately, to obtain a world free of TB by ensuring that every TB patient has access to effective diagnosis, treatment and cure; stopping transmission of TB; reducing the inequitable social and economic toll of TB; and developing and implementing new preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic tools and strategies. The Stop Partnership is uniquely positioned to support the development and further implementation by partners of the current and future Global Plan, acting as a coordinator and catalyst for the range of partners engaged in the fight against TB.
Founded in 2001, the Stop TB Partnership’s mission is to serve every person affected by TB and ensure that high-quality treatment is available to all who need it. Stop TB partners include international and technical organizations, government programmes, research and funding agencies, foundations, NGOs, civil society and community groups and the private sector.
Under the overall guidance of the Head of Governance at Stop TB and the supervision of the Office of the Secretary of Health (SoH) in The Philippines, the Liaison Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to ensure effective and efficient liaison between the Secretary of Health (SoH) and the Stop TB Partnership Secretariat with full confidentiality in all aspects of the assignment, and maintenance of protocol procedures. In the discharge of her/his duties, the incumbent liaises with UNOPS programme support colleagues in order to ensure consistent service delivery to the SoH office. The incumbent promotes a quality and results-oriented approach.
- Logistical support to SoH missions and representation schedule, as well as travel arrangements related to Stop TB Partnership events
- Support organization of regular and ad-hoc meetings including preparation of minutes and summaries of actions to be taken; tracking of progress on planned issues
- Follow-up on deadlines, commitments made, actions taken and coordination of collection of information for any briefings or reports
- Administrative support to the SoH regarding governance-related meetings eg drafting communications
- Provision of all other related administrative, logistical, protocol and secretary services for the Secretary of Health
- Support the organization of special events, luncheons, receptions for high-level invitees from missions, governments, UN agencies, governmental/non-governmental organizations and other partners
- Support to organization of internal meetings, conferences, workshops, retreats; preparation of agenda and logistics arrangements, including circulation of the documentation to be reviewed, minutes and follow ups.
Education:
- Completion of Secondary education is required. First University Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, or equivalent disciplines is desirable but not required. Administrative certification is an asset
Experience:
- Minimum of four years of relevant experience in administrative or operational support or other relevant experience is required.
- Experience in public health is desirable.
- Some experience in UN system is desirable.
