Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto)Description:A Research Associate position in the area of technoeconomic assessment and enzyme technologies for bioproduct sectors is available at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry, University of Toronto. This position is a part of collaborative research project within BioZone at U Toronto.Qualifications:The position requires a PhD in Chemical or biochemical engineering with at least 1-year of experience in technoeconomic assessment of biotechnologies. The initial appointment term is for a year with the possibility of renewal. University of Toronto is a highly competitive employer and compensation will be commensurate with experience of the candidate. - Strong background in protein production
- Understanding of enzyme applications in bioproduct sectors
- Knowledge of technoeconomic assessment methodologies
- Knowledge of bioprocess scale-up
- Experience with establishing new enzyme applications
Duties:
- Complete technoeconomic assessment of research technologies
- Contribute to manuscript and proposal preparation
- Contribute to publication of academic papers and technical reports
- Deliver presentations on research findings at meetings and conferences
- Liase with industry partners and vendors effectively to support research goals
- Coordinate research projects and meetings as appropriate
