Managing Consultant – ETRM

What will you be doing?
As a Managing consultant at capSpire, your role will provide you with considerable challenge, variety and development opportunity in a client facing environment. You will lead multidisciplinary, international project teams and manage the development, design, user interface, technology integration and site architecture management. You will work as part of a core team delivering exciting and complex programmes for our clients such as Crude, Liquids, LNG, Metals and commodity trading houses. You will also engage in business development and maintaining client relationships.

Job Responsibilities:
- Execute and deliver high quality engagement tasks both independently and in a collaborative setting with a focus on client satisfaction.
- Deconstruct clients most challenging problems and develop innovative, industry leading approaches and methodologies.
- Play a lead role in supporting key client projects ensuring projects are completed in an efficient manner to meet client deadlines.
- Partnering with clients, developing relationships, understanding technical and business objectives and strategy, and driving deliverables to deliver to project timeline and specification.
- Manage programs of work in accordance with projected timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Participate in the management and development of company initiatives (e.g. recruitment, people and culture, internal communications and training).
- Engage in the pursuit of new business including drafting documents proposals and client presentations.
- Expand your industry knowledge, contribute to the development of consulting capabilities and effectively articulate our key business propositions to clients.
- Guide, mentor and grow junior business consultants.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 10+ years of experience with Technology or Functional requirements (or a combination of the two).
- Strong attention to detail, logic, problem-solving, written and interpersonal communication, presentation, and client-facing skills.
- Creative, enthusiastic, and able to thrive in a team environment.
- Proven record of accomplishment in managing and growing complex client relationships.
- Strong problem identification skills and creativity to develop new, innovative solutions.
- Relevant work experience in a consulting firm or similar client-facing role.
- Strong team leadership skills and experience mentoring and growing people.
- Experience in a professional services consultancy (could be a software house/vendor, consultancy), whether Big 4/tier one consultancy or boutique IT consultancy.
Technology
- Delivery experience using mainstream capital and energy trading and risk management products such as OpenLink Endur, SolArc Right Angle, Murex, Allegro, Calypso, Sophis, Summit etc.
- Proven experience of object oriented software development and technologies such as C#, .NET, WCF, Java, C/C++, relational databases (ie. Oracle, MS SQL Server, IBM DB2), Middleware Platforms (ie. J2EE or .NET), Enterprise Solution Packages (ie. EAI, CMS, portals) and development methods such as Agile, RUP, UML.
- Experience with object orientated design and development utilizing Java or .NET and/or mobile technologies.
- Deep understanding of database and middleware technologies.
- Willingness to be in hands on development roles, and demonstrate adaptability, coachability and flexibility to learn and take on other project responsibilities as needed.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to a variety of computing technologies including Ntier, infrastructure as a service, grid computing, cloud infrastructure.
- Knowledge of trading processes (front/middle/back office order entry, clearing & settlement, types of instruments, etc.)
- Ideal candidate will have a background in Financial Services or Energy.
- Industry experience in financial, energy and/or commodities trading and risk management technologies, operations, and processes, as well as, delivering full lifecycle systems development/implementation in energy or financial systems environment.
