Position Title: Prevention Educator
Program: Prevention Education
Responsible to: Director of Prevention
Classification: Part-time, Non-Exempt <19 hrs/week
General Qualifications

1.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with people of various ages, cultures, socioeconomic status, sexual orientations, professions and backgrounds.
2.
Represent the YWCA in professional manner.
3.
Maintain effective working relationships and work within multi-disciplinary team.
4.
Assume individual responsibility and work collaboratively.
5.
Utilize good organizational and multi-tasking skills and be able to handle multiple priority tasks using independent judgment.
6.
Perform all duties in compliance with the laws and regulations of the State of Hawaii and the United States government.
Specific Qualifications:
1.
Minimum 2 years working with youth of various ages.
2.
Substantial experience in coordinating and providing presentations to youth and adults.
3.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks as assigned.
4.
Experience working with a variety of people.
5.
Experience organizing public events.
6.
Comprehensive understanding of issues related to sexual assault, domestic violence, social and racial justice.
7.
Demonstrate respect and sensitivity for cultural differences.
Education and Technical Skills:
1.
Minimum AA Degree, BA degree preferred in communication, education, social work, Womens Studies or related field.
2.
Skills working on Windows based PC.
