The Health Information Management (HIM) Review Specialist position plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of client records, which are essential for quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include reviewing client records, notifying providers of necessary documentation, and facilitating the closure of records upon discharge. Key Responsibilities:

  • Review client records to verify the presence of required documentation.
  • Notify providers regarding any missing chart documents to ensure compliance.
  • Facilitate the closure of client records upon discharge to maintain accurate data.
  • Review reports of client deaths to ensure proper record closure.
  • Add alert notifications to client records as needed for enhanced management.
  • Identify and report duplicate client records for necessary corrections.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the Compliance and Integrity department.

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:

  • Previous healthcare industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Associate’s degree in Health Information Management is preferred.
  • At least one of the following credentials is preferred: RHIA or RHIT.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications, including spreadsheets.
