Job Summary
The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Security Investigator Specialist IV. As a member of the Personnel Security team, you will be responsible for investigating and resolving security incidents. As an Insider threat representative, you will be responsible for identifying, preventing, detecting, and mitigating risks posed by insiders who may wittingly or unwittingly compromise our organization”s security.
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in Chantilly, VA.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Proficiency in conducting thorough internal investigations, including evidence collection, data analysis, and interview techniques.
- Investigates and resolves security incidents ranging from theft to mishandling information which may result in security infractions/violations.
- Conducts interviews with employees/contractors and generates detailed investigative reports.
- Rapidly detects, reports, and escalates suspicious insider activities.
- Works alongside IT, HR, and legal teams for detailed insider threat investigations, evidence collection, and remediation processes.
- Ability to operate under high-pressure conditions, managing multiple investigations simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
- Comprehensive understanding of laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to corporate investigations.
What You Need to be Successful – Security Investigator Specialist IV
Minimum Requirements:
- 10 or more years of relevant experience with bachelor’s degree, or 8 or more years of relevant experience with Master’s Degree
- Current TS/SCI. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear, concise reports, interviews, and presentations.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees, Government customers, law enforcement, and legal teams.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision yet also able to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- Professional Certified Investigator or Certified Corporate Investigator certification
- Completed the Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE) “Insider Threat Program for Industry Curriculum
