MUST:
3+ years of experience as a medical assistant
Experience coordinating and overseeing patient care and working between providers and patients
Experience translating for Spanish Speaking candidates
Strong experience working on phones
Comfortable working an administrative role as a medical assistant
Experience in the gastroenterology field a plus
Calling patients prior to procedures to review required prep
Assisting patients prior to procedures and responding to inquiries
Calling in and processing prescriptions
Reviewing test results with patients
Scheduling and reconfirming procedures
Reviewing prep prior to procedures
Requesting medical records from various sites
Maximizing provider’s schedule
Checking patients out
Must be proactive and they type of candidate who can work independently
HS diploma
DUTIES:
The duties of the Medical Assistant Care Coordinator include but are not limited to the following:
Oversee and coordinate patient’s care
Help with assisting with translations for Spanish Speaking candidates
Call patients to review upcoming procedures
Triage phone calls
Schedule procedures
Act as a liaison between patients and the provider
Call in prescriptions
Request medical records from various sites
Call patients prior to procedures, assist with inquiries, and provide patient education regarding procedures and preps
Review test results with patients
Document detailed information in EMR and handle any required care coordination duties
Provide support to the provider as needed
