Overview

Responsibilities
- The Engineering Technician will support all aspects of the manufacturing process including design for manufacturability analysis and administrative record keeping.
- Responsibilities include:
- Setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments
- Working closely with engineers and designers to bring new concepts to life
- Fabricating, modifying, and repairing prototype components.
- This role requires a high degree of precision, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret a technical data package (Drawings, CAD Models, sketches).
The W37 Machine Shop manufactures prototypes and test apparatus hardware supporting Joint, Interservice and service-specific experiments, assessments and demonstrations.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a current SECRET Clearance is required
- A minimum of 5 years of manufacturing training or similar industrial experience.
Experience in:
- Setting up and operating both CNC and manual machine tools, including lathes, mills, laser etchers, waterjets and EDM machines, to produce high-quality prototype parts.
- Fabricating, modifying, and assembling prototype components from a variety of materials, including metals (aluminum, steel, titanium) and plastics.
- Performing in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, CMM) to ensure parts meet strict tolerance and quality standards.
- Working directly with the engineering and design teams to provide feedback on part manufacturability, suggest design improvements, and troubleshoot issues.
- Ability to lift 50lbs
