Product Introduction (PI) Technician

Could you be the full-time Product Introduction (PI) Technician we’re looking for?
As a PI (Product Introduction) Technician, you’ll work closely with teams across the business and be responsible for troubleshooting of Alstom products at customer site in order to ensure their availability. You will also provide technical expertise to subcontractors, warranty support team, project team members and coaching to less experienced field operators.
Candidate must above all have an appetite to learn, either mechanical or electrical aptitude, a motivation to discover root cause on their own (conducting necessary documentation review/research), and a collaborative attitude to ask for help and work amongst a strong team.Additionally, the candidate must be able to communicate clearly, including communicating with other recipients who don’t have the same perspective/needs as our own. Effective communication also includes being able to independently escalate issues to the appropriate stakeholders.
Candidate must be flexible to the work environment with Agility as a core working value. Needed flexibility includes occasional (~every 2 months) business travel with as little as 1 week notice (2-4 day trips), changing the daily activity plan to accommodate other stakeholders and the environment.
Key accountabilities
- Complying and enforcing Alstom & customer EHS policies and rules as well as relevant PI processes on customer site
- Troubleshooting including investigation and repair during PI period as well as Pre-warranty & Commissioningincluding investigation and repairs
- Carry out Fleet check activities
- Reporting any deviation in the Failure Management data base
- Support specific technical investigations by Engineering or internal or external Supplier
- Work in collaboration of TSSSA engineering team
- Ensure good information flow within Troubleshooting and Customer Site Warranty team (shift change) (if applicable)
- Support helpdesk activities when required
- Implement Field Modifications (FM) when required
- Contribute to Return of experience , recommendations on appropriate preventative and corrective actionsand suggestions for product enhancements
- Provide feedback to PI management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance
education Requirements
- DEGREE OR PASSION combined with relevant experience in mechanical, electrical/electronics and IT fields
- Internal EHS training
- English (Fluent)
Experience
- Several years (+2) of technical experience, mechanical or electrical / electronics applications
- Field Experience
- Structured and organized with hands-on approach.
- Strong supporter of teamwork with good communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
Salary Range
$30-$37 per hour DOE
