About the Program:

The Zayo SummerInternshipProgram is designed to cultivate the next generation of telecommunications professionals.Internswill gain meaningful, hands-on experience within a dynamic, fast-paced, and innovative environment. Our goal is to empower, develop, and connect ourinternswhile fostering fresh perspectives and ideas that will drive our organization forward.

Program Details:

  • Start Date: June 1, 2026

  • Duration: 10 weeks

  • Location: Denver, CO (Hybrid/Onsite)

About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Help configure monitoring for servers and cloud infrastructure

  • Support dashboard creation using Prometheus and Grafana

  • Assist with log management and search using OpenSearch

  • Help validate alerts and reduce monitoring gaps

  • Document onboarding and monitoring procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, IT, or related field

  • Basic understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS)

  • Familiarity with Linux systems

  • Interest in monitoring, infrastructure, and performance analysis

  • Willingness to learn enterprise monitoring tools

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to monitoring tools (CheckMK, Prometheus, Grafana)

  • Basic understanding of SNMP or log monitoring

  • Scripting knowledge (Python or Bash)

What Success Looks Like

  • Successful onboarding of selected systems into monitoring platforms

  • Functional dashboards or alerts created during internship

  • Improved visibility for a small set of infrastructure components

  • Clear documentation of monitoring configurations

  • Noticeable learning progress over the 5-month period

Note: Applicants must have completed their sophomore year and be enrolled in a degree or certificate seeking program for the fall semester of 2026.

Estimated base pay range for this role: $23.00-$25.00 USD/hour.

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance and 401(k).
