Overview
The CMA/RMA Coordinator coordinates the Medical Assistant (MA) and Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) activity for assigned clinical departments under the direction of the Patient Care Manager. Collaborates with Nursing Supervisor to ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained and department workflows are effective and efficient. Oversees all POC competencies for departments, involved in training and onboarding of new CMA’s, assists with annual CMA competencies, provides patient care, assists with in-basket work.
Qualifications

Certification Requirements (one of the following)

  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)

  • Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) – National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)

  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Allied Health (AAH)

  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Medical Technologists (AMT)

  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – National Healthcareer Association (NHA)

  • Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) – National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)

All of the following

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA)

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Work experience in a related field

Responsibilities

  • Performs core CMA PointofCare (POC) coordination duties, including competencies, audits, and maintaining all POC regulatory requirements

  • Leads and participates in POC/Safety Fair activities

  • Completes performance appraisals and HSL conversations with direct reports, in collaboration with the RN Supervisor as needed

  • Partners with the RN Supervisor on disciplinary actions and formal coaching for CMA staff

  • Coordinates CMA schedules, approves timeoff requests, and manages general timekeeping

  • Participates in DNV preparedness activities

  • Onboards and trains new CMAs under the direction of the Patient Care Manager

  • Works with the RN Supervisor to ensure VFC program requirements are met

  • Orders department supplies and maintains par levels

  • Coordinates monthly staff meetings with input from the RN Supervisor

  • Maintains departmental logs and conducts required audits

  • Performs additional duties as assigned

  • Conducts monthly rounding with staff

  • Completes monthly AIDET audits for CMA/RMA team members

  • Manages staffing and approves time off

  • Performs patientrounding followup phone calls

  • Monitors CMA schedules and daily checklists

  • Oversees pointofcare testing processes

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $23.83per hour – $39.8per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
