GenMet Corp is in need of experienced Welders to join our team. We are looking for hardworking professionals who enjoy meeting challenges and surpassing expectations. The ideal candidates will have a background in specifically aluminum, mild steel, or stainless welding. We are in search of candidates who are looking for long-term, secure and rewarding employment.

Essential Duties:

• Follow safety rules and expectations and use safe work practices.
• Utilize/interpret blueprints/engineering drawings for setup, welding, and inspection of parts to ensure customer specifications are met.
• Understand layout and planned sequence of operations.
• Verify conformance of work piece to specifications and quality standards.
• Prepare surfaces to be welded and set up and assemble parts to be welded.
• Set up proper equipment for different welding jobs.
• Able to use conventional and precision measuring instruments.

Welder will also perform routine PM’s on the equipment and maintain a safe and orderly workplace.

Qualifications: MUST be Safety and Quality conscious

• MUST be able to be certified to AWS D1.1 welding standard, at a minimum.
• MUST be able to setup and MIG weld (TIG a PLUS) aluminum.
• Ability to setup jobs from blueprints
• Math abilities to solve problems and perform inspection
• High School Diploma or GED, PLUS 2 years welding fabrication experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Must meet physical requirements for this position as follows:
• Stand or Sit, Move, Use hands/Fingers to handle or feel, stoop, kneel, talk/hear, see, carry weight/lift (up to 50lb’s)
