2024/2025 Teacher, Special Education- Visually Impaired
The purpose of the Teacher for the Visually Impaired is to provide an educational program for students who are visually impaired and assist in the planning and implementation of their educational program to (which may include instruction, community based instruction, communication and social skills development) ensure students are successfully participating academically, and/or socially in their classrooms. This position is designated as an itinerant teaching position and is under the supervision of a Special Education Program Manager Responsibilities and Duties •Manage student caseloads across multiple schools. •Design instruction, adapt curriculum and deliver visually impaired related services to individual students according to assessments, IEP and student need and record progress of students. •Collaborate with IEP team members and support staff to ensure appropriate IEP implementation. •Monitor delivery and frequency of services delivered to students. REQUIRMENTS: California credential authorizing instruction in the appropriate area of handicap. Must have English Learner Authorization and be NCLB compliant.
