Responsibilities:
– Trailer Spotting: – Safely maneuver trailers to and from loading docks and designated areas in the yard. – Ensure accurate placement of trailers for efficient loading and unloading. – Coordination: – Communicate effectively with truck drivers, warehouse personnel, and shipping staff to ensure smooth operations. – Direct the movement of vehicles in the yard, ensuring safety and compliance with company policies. – Safety Compliance: – Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while operating equipment and directing traffic. – Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any issues to management. – Documentation: – Maintain accurate records of trailer movements, loading/unloading activities, and any incidents. – Assist in completing shipping and receiving paperwork as needed. – General Support: – Assist in loading and unloading goods as required, using forklifts or other material handling equipment. – Collaborate with team members to maintain an organized and efficient shipping and receiving area.
Qualifiations: – High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in logistics or warehouse operations is a plus. – Previous experience in shipping and receiving, logistics, or a related field preferred. – Valid driver’s license and, if applicable, forklift certification. Preferred Skills: – Strong communication and interpersonal skills. – Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks. – Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
