This is a full-time and long-term position starting in September 2024.This role is a perfect opportunity for graduates who have previous Teaching Assistant or tutoring experience. We are looking for individuals aspiring to become Secondary School Teachers or want to gain classroom experience.General duties – Academic Mentor

• Assessing students on their existing ability in a subject area

• Assessing the student’s level of progress and identifying areas for improvement

• Creating a schedule for additional education and development

• Providing support during their examinations

• Reviewing homework

• Communicating with parents/guardians with students’ progress

• Keep up-to-date on the current curriculum and trends

• Maintaining excellent knowledge of the subject area

Person Specification -Academic Mentor

• 1st Class / 2:1 degree from a top University

• Subjects sought: Science (Chemistry), Maths, English, Geography

• The ability to breakdown and simplify complex concepts is essential!

• An articulate, personable and team-playing individual

• Good knowledge and qualifications in the subject area being taught

• Verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to motivate students to study

• Good organisational skills

• Patience and understanding

• Ability to adapt to different learning styles

• Ability to supervise students and be a role model
