We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Toronto, Ontario. In this role, you will oversee the daily accounting operations for one or more brands, ensuring accuracy and maintaining financial integrity. This position offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders while contributing to the success of the organization.Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and comprehensive monthly financial statements for review

• Coordinate with local and international teams to manage inter-company reconciliations effectively.

• Perform detailed reconciliations for bank accounts and balance sheet items to ensure accuracy.

• Review employee expense reports for compliance with company policies, escalating concerns as necessary.

• Process accounts payable invoices promptly and within established timelines.

• Analyze and review revenue recognition reports, ensuring proper financial reporting.

• Reconcile and upload monthly insurance reports in a timely manner.

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar accounting role.

• Proficiency in accounting software systems, with knowledge of NetSuite or Salesforce considered an asset.

• Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with expertise in pivot tables and data analysis.

• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and management to achieve departmental goals.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of the English language.

• Experience managing multiple tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Familiarity with ERP systems and accounting functions such as accounts payable, payroll, and reconciliations.
