Accountant (6-months contract)

We are looking for a motivated professional to provide support to the Assistant Finance Manager (AFM), Singapore. This person will be responsible for the overall accounting & reporting function for a division of VML and has to ensure adherence to company policy and procedures and to continue to strive for best practice in all areas of Financial Management and Control.

What you’ll do

Financial Reporting

• Responsible for ensuring timely accurate management financial reporting and highlighting all material P&L issues. Work and coordinate with account teams to review/action as appropriate
• Responsible for ad-hoc financial requests as required by global and regional finance

Financial Control

• Assist Assistant Finance Manager (AFM) to ensure financial controls are sufficient, in place and maintained in line with Sarbanes Oxley & company Policies and Procedures
• Assist Assistant Finance Manager (AFM) to update and streamline company policy periodically
• Assist Assistant Finance Manager (AFM) with management of cash flow and regular monitoring of net working capital

Budget and Forecast

• Assist Assistant Finance Manager (AFM) with preparation of business unit/ division budgets and forecasts
• Work closely with Assistant Finance Manager (AFM) & local management team to ensure amongst other factors that revenue targets and profit margins are met

Statutory

• Handle statutory financial reporting including audit and local legislative requirements on a timely and accurate basis
• Review Quarterly GST filing
• Prepare Yearly Tax Filing

Who you are

• Diploma/ Degree in Accounting
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA or equivalent) preferred
• Minimum three years of Finance/Accounting work experience with a multinational company or top tier accounting firm
• Advertising industry work experience preferred
• SOX experience preferred
• Proficient in Excel, e.g. vlookup, hlookup, pivot table etc.
• Problem solving and multi-tasking skills are pre-requisite
