<div class="isg-job-description“>The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for monitoring the outflow of capital for the company.

• Responds to external vendors and internal customers regarding all aspects of the accounts payable process, including processing invoices for payment, recording sales tax, assisting with bank reconciliations, and documenting loans
• Facilitates payment of vendors, which may include match the check register with backup for review by the financial manager, verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies
• Receives, verifies, and processes credit card bills and ensures correct general ledger account codes are used; reconciles expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records
• Ensures outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop payment orders as needed
• Prepares weekly cash disbursement forecast
• Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions; this includes Accounts Payable, Received but Not Invoiced, Other Accruals and liabilities Balance Sheet accounts

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent, Business or Accounting degree preferred
• Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) certification preferred
• Minimum of five years of related experience
• Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts, and corporate procedures
• Must be able to learn accounting software systems
• Ability to maintain confidential and accurate records
• Strong problem-solving skills with effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs
• Effective organizational skills, high level of reliability, precision and attention to detail
• Ability to obtain a US Government granted security clearance
