We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity in the non-profit sector in Ottawa, Ontario, for an Accounts Payable Specialist. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be performing key accounting functions, managing high volume payables, and ensuring all AP-related duties are accomplished proficiently.Responsibilities:

• Accurately process high volume payables to ensure streamlined financial operations

• Conduct account coding for precise financial tracking

• Use accounting software systems and enterprise resource planning tools to manage accounts payable

• Pay invoices in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to financial guidelines

• Utilize systems like ADP – Financial Services and Concur for efficient financial operations

• Perform accrual accounting tasks to maintain accurate financial records

• Conduct auditing activities to ensure compliance with financial regulations

• Manage Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions for seamless financial operations

• Ensure all AP related duties are completed accurately and on schedule.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable or similar role
• Proficiency in Account Coding and understanding of its applications
• Proven experience with Accounting Software Systems
• Knowledge of ADP – Financial Services is required
• Familiarity with Concur and its functionalities
• Experience with ERP – Enterprise Resource Planning is a must
• Ability to perform Accounting Functions with accuracy and efficiency
• Extensive knowledge and experience in Accounts Payable (AP)
• Understanding of Accrual Accounting principles
• Experience in Auditing and ability to identify discrepancies
• Knowledge of Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and processing.
