JOB DESCRIPTION
Your Role
As a Treasury Specialist, you will contribute to the efficient management and implementation of TDCS’ growth and activities with an emphasis on local currency financing in Asia and the Pacific through the origination, structuring, and execution of debt capital markets and derivatives transactions
You will:
Develop and tailor new financing solutions to meet specific demands according to volume, tenor and pricing parameters while also contributing to TD’s overall local currency footprint
Provide advisory and execution services to relevant teams on currency and interest rate management
Collaborate with central banks, government agencies and officials, securities markets regulators, stock exchanges, central securities depositaries and commercial counterparties to achieve financing outcomes
Support, liaise, and advise relevant teams such as Regional Departments, Private Sector Operations Department, Office of the General Counsel, and Office of Risk Management regarding the identification, processing and delivery of local currency funding solutions
Develop relationships with commercial counterparties to obtain diverse funding solutions and pricing tension
Participate in a team that is an important market interface and knowledge center within ADB for financial markets, keeping up to date with the regulatory environment, changes to market infrastructure, trends in local and international markets and conducts official capacity building exercises
Participate in and support TDCS knowledge sharing and client outreach programs through forums, workshops and ad hoc events to promote best practices in foreign investment engagement, foreign exchange reserves management, public debt management, and asset-liability management
Share information on ADB’s ordinary capital resources financial products to relevant teams and external clients
Work with broad policies and goals, work directly with clients, with management for critical tasks
Provide guidance to junior team members and oversee the execution of their assigned tasks.
Qualifications
You will need:
A University degree, or equivalent, in Accounting, Finance, Business or related fields, ideally at post-graduate level or its equivalent.
Professional qualifications in finance (e.g., CFA charter) desirable.
At least 6 years of treasury / financial markets experience, 5 years of which in local currency, within a multilateral development bank context but private sector experience also relevant
Sound knowledge of: (i) the structure and functioning of capital markets (cash and derivatives); (ii) underwriting, distribution and trading of fixed income securities; (iii) treasury management concepts; (iv) investment practices and asset preferences of institutional investors and fund managers; and (v) financial mathematics.
Knowledge of financial risk management concepts
Excellent in working with diverse teams
Proficient in financial applications like Bloomberg and Reuters, with Excel and data visualization skills, and communicates complex financial information
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
International experience working in several countries
