The UNM Institute for Social Research is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Administrative Assistant 2 to become a part of our team. ISR collaborates with state and local agencies to compile data driven analyses to provide research services to government and non-governmental agencies, serving as a rich resource of data for adult and juvenile justice issues.
The successful candidate will possess professional/friendly interpersonal communication skills with the ability to think proactively, prioritize tasks and adapt to shifting demands while maintaining attention to detail.
In this role, the ideal candidate will work closely with the administrative and fiscal team, assisting with a wide range of administrative tasks, to include:
- Maintain organized and detailed electronic records, databases, and inventories ensuring compliance with university protocols and procedures.
- Support staffing the front desk to serve as a central point of contact, to include answering phone calls.
- Support accounts payable, payroll processes, and financial reconciliations ensuring accuracy in budgeting and reporting.
- Support the hiring process of staff and student employees.
- Providing support for travel arrangements.
- Act as building coordinator.
- Provide logistical support for meeting coordination and event scheduling.
- Other tasks as needed by the department

- If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
- All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
- Microsoft
Office Suite (Outlook, Work, Excel, Teams), Adobe products, Zoom, and
other relevant technologies. - A
working knowledge of UNM database applications and administrative business
systems. - Excellent
written and verbal communication skills.
