CERN is seeking a proactive and highly organised Administrative Assistant to support the Council Secretariat, which is responsible for organising meetings of the CERN Council and its subsidiary bodies throughout the year.
Your Role:
As an Administrative Assistant, you will:
- Provide a wide range of administrative support within the Council Secretariat.
- Coordinating and organising meetings of the CERN Council, its subordinate and advisory bodies, and working groups.
- Liaise courteously and efficiently with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of official documents.
- Offer administrative support to the President of the Council and Chairs of various committees.
- Provide back-up for the administrative assistant of the Translation and Minutes Service when required.
Your profile:
Skills:
- MS Office proficiency Ability to understand and speak English in a professional context and to prepare standard texts in English.
- Ability to understand and speak French in everyday situations. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a courteous approach.
- Ability to understand and speak English in a professional context and to prepare standard texts in English.
- Ability to understand and speak French in everyday situations.
Eligibility criteria:
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Adminstrative (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
- Applicants with a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree are not eligible
