Central Regional Hospital

We are currently recruiting for an Administrative Specialist I at Central Regional Hospital (CRH) in the department of Health Information Management (HIM).

The primary purpose of this position is to provide essential support to the HIM staff by ensuring the efficient handling and processing of departmental tasks. Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Distribute mail within the HIM Department.
  • Date-stamp and process gun permit requests based on volume and date.
  • Retrieve necessary forms for various units and departments from the warehouse.
  • Maintain and track forms using the HIM master copy of the form’s spreadsheet.
  • Audit patient charts.
  • File all laboratory results into active patient charts
  • Incorporate late filings into patient charts.
  • Combine charts upon receipt from storage.
  • Assist with processing of discharge charts, including breaking down and auditing these charts.

The normal work hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday however flexibility is required to meet hospital needs. This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

To receive credit for all of your work history and credentials, you must list the information on the application form.   • Ability to use software such as, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and electronic health record, HEARTS.
  • Ability to utilize copier, fax machine and other office equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ability to interact with employees, physicians, and other users of medical records in a variety of situations.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • File efficiently with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate concern and courtesy to patients, families, vendors and the general public by giving appropriate information, advice and assistance.

Management Preference:

  • 2 years of experience in an HIM Department.
  • Notary Public Certification.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience;

or

equivalent combination of education and experience.
