Inventory & Fleet Support Specialist
Operations / Fleet Services
This is a long-term, full-time (40 hours/week), on-site role located in Garner, NC.
Summary
The Inventory & Fleet Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate ordering, receiving, storage, and distribution of stock and non-stock items that support the maintenance and repair of transportation equipment. This role manages day-to-day inventory control, vendor coordination, and administrative support functions for the Fleet Services team, playing a critical role in keeping operations running smoothly.
Our Ideal Candidate
3+ years of experience in automotive parts management, inventory control, or a related field
Passion for logistics and operations with a strong foundation in supply chain and materials management
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and inventory management/reporting systems
Familiar with ERP systems, reporting dashboards, and preventive maintenance processes
Skilled in collaborating with technicians, supervisors, and external vendors
Able to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Flexible and adaptable to irregular schedules and changing operational priorities
Strong written and verbal communication with exceptional attention to detail
Trustworthy with financial transactions and able to handle confidential information responsibly
Job Description
In this role, you will manage all aspects of parts and inventory across multiple garages, ensuring proper stocking levels, warranty returns, vendor recovery, and accurate reporting. You’ll partner with supervisors, technicians, and vendors to keep transportation equipment supplied and operational.
This includes:
Coordinating ordering, receiving, storage, and distribution of stock and non-stock items
Managing storeroom organization, inventory cycle counts, min/max levels, and warranty recovery
Preparing reports, validating invoices, and reconciling discrepancies using tools such as reporting dashboards and inventory systems
Issuing parts in a timely manner, supporting preventive maintenance schedules, and preparing kits for technicians
Coordinating with vendors, freight carriers, and asset recovery teams for product testing, returns, or obsolete inventory adjustments
Supporting fuel operations, mobile fleet inventory, and storm-readiness equipment stocking
Providing administrative support for payroll processing, expense reporting, service management system updates, facilities requests, and technician onboarding
You will also contribute to continuous improvement by identifying process inefficiencies, supporting audits, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence.
education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field preferred
3+ years of experience in automotive parts, inventory management, or fleet support operations
Forklift certification (or ability to obtain) required
Valid driver’s license required
Background in reporting systems, inventory software, or ERP systems preferred
Additional Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be comfortable working an irregular schedule when required

The pay for this W-2 position ranges from $20.42 – $21.83per hour.
This position may be eligible for benefits such as health insurance, PTO, and 401(k), depending on tenure and hours worked.
